Alyson Erikson

Ok, so I am supposed to tell all of you in three paragraphs about myself and my life, so here goes. I was born in Shreveport Louisiana, in the greatest country on earth, on December 1st, 1986. I've lived in Louisiana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Germany, Italy, and Texas. If I had to pick a place I loved the most I would have to say Oberammergau Germany is it, what can I say I'm a sucker for the Alps. As far as people go though I would have to say the greatest friends I've ever had have come from all over.

Growing up I played ice hockey, street hockey, soccer, and acted a little in my high school theatre group. I was also in Civil Air Patrol and that's where I learned God allowed people to fly for two reasons; first because it is the greatest experience in the world, and second to get closer to God. In 2005 I graduated from high school and entered college at Baylor University. I am an International Studies Major, concentrating on the Middle East, and planning to go into the military after college. I always get asked why I want to join so I'll clear that up real quick. I love this country to death and its tradition, my family has fought in every war this country has ever been in.

Now the interesting part, why I committed to doing this crazy adventure with a bunch of guys who are my brothers, first I would have to say my faith in god has something to do with it. We prayed on this one and God responded with a sign. Second, I strongly believe the only thing keeping us back is ourselves; my family is a great example of persevering through the odds. Third, I've never seen Alaska or Canada, well I have seen Canada from the air but that doesn't count. Finally, because the great thing about this country is you can take a stand and say what you believe and I believe we are facing the major problem called a lack of hope in the future. As my bro Justin said "We are the richest country in the world, but we are the unhappiest." So I say, "Let's show them all that there is hope in the future."

Hi, my name is Alyson. I'm a 21-year-old film student at Baylor University, from San Antonio, TX. I've spent a large part of my life travelling, being an Air Force brat for the first portion of my life. I love adventures and new experiences.

I have known the Alive Campaign guys for years, and have been helping them with the Alive Campaign somewhat under the radar (up until now). From the beginning, I told them, "I'll go if you need me." I was so excited to hear that they wanted me to join the team.

I guess I'm the creative one of the group; I play guitar, sing, write songs, and, as I said before, am a film major. I plan to keep these boys entertained with some good tunes along the way, and hopefully use my creativity to the team's advantage.

My family and my faith mean a lot to me. I have a twin sister, 8-year-old little brother, mom and dad who support me in all the crazy things I've done thus far. My family keeps me motivated, keeps me strong, and keeps me disciplined. I know that, wherever the Alive Campaign goes, God will be watching over us, keeping us safe and motivated when times get tough. He has helped us so much already, I'm in awe of what He is yet to do on the rest of this journey.

Nathan Lloyd

Hey, my name's Justin. I was born, June 16th 1987 in El Paso, Texas and lived there until I was 18 years old. I'm a preacher kid, which kind of explains a lot about who I am. After a random decision to go to Baylor, which is a story in itself, I did my best at becoming a part of the campus. I became involved at UBC (University Baptist Church) a place where art and faith meet, and became a Community Leader in order to be apart of the incoming freshmans' lives. If you want to find me, you can probably spot me reading in a corner, sitting in a comfy couch, and talking to friends at the local coffee shop, Common Grounds. I'm currently majoring in Russian and International Studies; again, that's another random story. I'm a nerd at heart and all my friends can attest to that. So that's a little bit about me, however how can anyone write about ones entire life in a couple paragraphs. We are worth so much more than this.

Ok, so my name is Nathan Lloyd and I am a 21 years old, a Junior, a triple Business major in Finance, Economics, and Risk Management. I am from Itasca, TX which is where I get the nickname Nathan 'of Itasca' or Itasca for short here at Baylor. I played football (offensive and definsive tackle) in highschool as an Itasca Wampus Cat (look it up on wikipedia, i'm not joking). As far as interests now that I am in college, I am a car enthusiast and a Mustang nut. I really enjoy cooking and and I go country dancing on Thursday nights with my friends. I plan to start learning Swing dance during the Spring semester. So I have two of my three current life goals in process: learn to cook, learn to dance, and learn to fly. The third one is going to take a while; airplanes are expensive.

I do not fit the profile for an activist at all. I do love my friends though. My friends are always there for me, so I have to be there for them. This trip and organization has reached into something so much bigger than just ourselves and our friend, and in helping him alone this group is already a success.

As for the future, I am going to train myself back into shape first. =) After graduation I am going start some kind of finance or insurance related career and try to live my version of the American Dream. Everyone has to find their own answers to fulfillment. Mine is a family and close friends.

My name is Andi Isao Nakasone, I am a 20 year old college student who was born and raised on the beautiful subtropical island of Okinawa, Japan. I am currently enrolled as a junior in the all great Baylor University, where I am majoring in Film/Digital Media; a major that I thoroughly enjoy since I love movies and love making movies. I also love my family, my friends, adventure, life, and biking for all of them. I hope to one day make my way into the movie industry where I dream to one day posses my own production company. I sincerely believe that a man can only be as great as his daring, and with that I am as daring they come. The End!
